Pan-ERR Agonist for Metabolic Research
SLU-PP-915 is a synthetic small molecule that activates estrogen-related receptors ERRα, ERRβ, and ERRγ. These nuclear receptors regulate pathways involved in mitochondrial function and cellular energy metabolism. SLU-PP-915 is a boronic-acid-containing thiophene carboxamide studied in cell and animal models.
Research Background
The 2023 discovery study identified SLU-PP-915 as compound 10s and reported activation of ERR-dependent gene expression. A 2024 study investigated ERR-mediated regulation of TFEB and autophagy using SLU-PP-915 in cellular models. A subsequent study, published in the January 2026 issue of The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, characterized oral activity and enhanced aerobic exercise capacity in mice.
These preclinical findings support use as a research tool for ERR signaling, mitochondrial energetics, and metabolic biology. They do not establish safety, efficacy, or exercise-performance benefits in humans.
